MY STORY
Growing up in the small town of Stettler, Alberta, I never imagined I'd one day be crafting marketing campaigns that generate six-figure revenues or building podcast studios from scratch. But sometimes the best stories begin in the most unexpected places.
When I moved to Calgary to pursue my Bachelor of Communications with a major in Broadcast Media Studies, I discovered something that would change everything: the art of advertising and storytelling. What started as academic curiosity quickly became a genuine passion for understanding how brands connect with people on an emotional level.
My breakthrough came during an internship with the Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation, where I learned that every brand has a story worth telling—and more importantly, how to tell it in a way that moves people. The energy of live sports, the drama of each game, and the connection between fans and their team. It taught me that great marketing isn't just about selling products; it's about creating experiences that people genuinely care about. I still work game days with the Calgary Flames today, a reminder of where my love for brand storytelling first took root.
After graduation, my career became a journey through diverse industries, each teaching me something new about what makes brands successful. At MaplevilleS Cabinetry and Millwork, I learned the intricacies of craftsmanship, marketing and premium positioning. Pure Elements Environmental Solutions showed me how to communicate complex technical solutions in accessible ways. Gold's Gym Calgary became my laboratory for transformation storytelling—both for the brand and for myself as a leader, where I managed marketing specialists while developing campaigns that generated over $100,000 in revenue with exceptional cost efficiency.
Today, at Matco Financial, I've pushed the boundaries of what's possible in traditional industries. I convinced leadership to let me build a podcast studio, launched two podcast series, and completely transformed how the company communicates with clients, moving from static quarterly reports to dynamic, engaging digital experiences.
But perhaps what defines me most isn't just my marketing wins—it's my commitment to developing others. For three years, I coached competitive hockey teams while simultaneously managing marketing teams, learning that leadership isn't about having all the answers; it's about empowering talented people to achieve something greater together.
From small-town Alberta to building brands that reach across North America, my journey has taught me that the best marketing combines strategic thinking with authentic storytelling. Whether I'm optimizing digital campaigns, mentoring team members, or creating content that genuinely helps people, I believe in marketing that makes a meaningful difference, not just noise.
Every project is a new story waiting to be told. What's yours?
